How to Check your Suspension Torque

How to check the torque on suspension components to make sure everything is in good condition and safe.

Off-road and overland vehicles require regular maintenance—not just oil changes and brake pads, but also re-torquing bolts that can loosen over time. If you've recently installed a suspension or other components, it's critical to check those bolts after a period of driving.

For suspensions, we recommend a bolt check at around 1,000 miles of highway driving or sooner if you've been off-roading.

Checking your bolts is simple—inspect the alignment marks on the bolt and the body. If the lines are no longer aligned, that means the bolt has shifted and needs to be re-torqued to the proper spec.

Regular bolt checks help ensure your vehicle stays safe and performs at its best, no matter where the trail takes you.
