How to Install the Owl Gear Rail and USB Power Socket

Tools
- T15 torx bit
- Small blade to remove VHB tape backing
- Drill with Phillips head bit
- Drill bit with width to match widest part of harness
- Pliers to close wire tap
Step 1
- Clean your cubbies to prepare for the VHB tape
- Identify screw locations under the dash and remove on either side of the HVAC controls
Step 2: install gear rail
- Test fit by aligning gear rail into cubbies until it touches
- Rotate the gear rail down to put into place
- Remove gear rail
- Lift red tape backing
- Push top bracket into cubby until touching, then rotate down and press into place
- Use longer T15 screws to mount the bottom brackets
- Do not overtighten screws!
Step 3: install USB panel
- Lift up on cup holder to disconnect plastic snaps. Pull straight up to remove. Place to the side.
- Identify 12v socket below: black and brown wire.
- Connect black to black (hot wire) and brown to brown (ground).
- Identify where you want the panel mounted and drill hole for the wires
- Remove cover from USB panel. Fish wires through hole so USB panel fits flush to the dash. Install the screws with the kit to mount the panel.
- Use wiretap to connect USB panel wires to vehicle 12V socket wires.
Step 4: Clean up
- Press face plate on USB panel
- Press cup holder back into place by pushing straight down
