How to Recovery Winch a Sprinter Van

- Draw out the winch line to winch point
- Attach soft shackle to winch point and winch shackle
- Plug in winch remote if applicable
- As you winch in, verify the line is lining up next to each other with no gaps
- Slowly pull in the line until tight
- Verify van being pulled is in neutral and brake is not engaged
- Verify vehicle pulling van has ebrake engaged and foot on brake
- Do not stand next to the winch or where the vehicle will be moved to
- Slowly continue to pull the winch line in to pull the van off of or out of the vehicle
- Once van is out of the obstacle, put the van in park and engage the brake
- Extend the line to remove the shackles
- Feed the line back into the winch: apply tension to the line with your gloved-hand and verify the line is spooling properly
- Hold the shackle until it is tight to the winch
- Always take your time, go slow, be thoughtful, and stay safe!
